India Post GDS Recruitment 2026:The India Post has released the official notification for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment on its official website, along with details of the registration process. More than 30,000 vacancies will be filled across 23 postal circles through this recruitment drive. As per the Postal GDS Notification 2026, Class 10 pass candidates are eligible to apply for the vacancies announced for their respective postal circles. The selection process will be conducted purely on the basis of a merit list prepared based on Class 10 marks, and no written examination will be held.

Educational Qualification

Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard from any recognised Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India.

Age Limit

  • Log in using the Registration Number and Password sent to the registered mobile number and email ID.
  • Fill out the application form with personal, educational, and other required details.
  • Upload scanned copies of the photograph, signature, and necessary documents.
  • Pay the application fee of ₹100 (General/OBC). SC/ST, PwD, and Female candidates are exempted from fee payment.
  • Preview the application, submit it, and take a printout for future reference.

India Post GDS Selection Process

The candidates are shortlisted for GDS posts based on a system-generated merit list. The Merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in the Secondary School Examination of the 10th standard. The merit list will be released separately for all 23 circles at https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in/.

  • The Merit List is prepared based on the marks obtained or the conversion of grades/points into marks in the Secondary School Examination (Class 10) conducted by approved boards. The marks are aggregated into a percentage up to four decimal places, and passing all subjects as per the respective board norms is mandatory.
  • For candidates whose Class 10 mark sheet displays both marks and grades/points, only the total marks obtained in all compulsory and elective/optional subjects are considered for merit calculation. Extra subjects, if any, are not taken into account to ensure a fair and uniform selection process.
