CCMB Technician and Technical Assistant Exam Pattern 2026
Knowing the exam pattern of CCMB Technician and Technical Assistant is important for effective preparation. It gives clarity about the exam and exam pattern.
- Paper I is a trade test, which is qualifying in nature.
- Paper 2 consists of 50 questions for 150 marks and one-third negative marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

CSIR CCMB Vacancy Selection Process 2026
The selection for the CSIR CCMB Technician and Technical Assistant and Officer posts is based on the written test. The written exam will be conducted in 2 stages.
Stage 1: Trade Test- The exam conducting body will conduct the (Paper I) trade test in the relevant subjects and a competitive written examination for the candidates to evaluate their suitability for the post.
Stage 2: Written Test- In the second stage, 2 written papers (Paper II & Paper III) will be conducted. It is evaluated only for those candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in paper 1. The final merit list will appear only on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in Paper II and Paper III.
